Vitaquell linseed oil is cold pressed from the whole linseed and not refined. Subsequently, the linseed oil is decanted and filtered to make it clear and bottled in the absence of light and air.

Linseed oil is nutritionally particularly valuable due to its high content of essential polyunsaturated fatty acids and omega-3 fatty acids (α-linolenic acid 55%) and linoleic acid, as well as natural fat accompanying substances. With a daily dose of 10 g, they consume 9 g of unsaturated fatty acids, including 5.5 g of α-linolenic acid. The use of unsaturated fatty acids instead of saturated fatty acids in the diet, as part of a varied and balanced diet and healthy lifestyle, has been shown to lower blood cholesterol levels. High cholesterol is one of the risk factors for coronary heart disease.

Uses:
The typical tangy-nutty flavor of linseed oil has long been appreciated in traditional cooking. It should be used especially in cold cuisine, it is not suitable for steaming and frying.

Our tip: Serve curd cheese with linseed oil with jacket potatoes or vegetables.

Notes on storage and consumption:
Since it is a very sensitive oil and has a shelf life of only 3-4 weeks after opening, it should be stored in the refrigerator and consumed quickly. If stored in a cool place, cloudiness due to fatty substances may occur, which does not represent a quality defect. Protect from light and heat. Once opened, store in the refrigerator and consume within 3 weeks.
